WELCOME BACK

 

All over America families will be honoring "Father" this weekend.  If your earthly father is still alive, you will probably be doing something special for him. If he is no longer on this earth, you will be thinking about him anyway and doing a little reminiscing―or perhaps a lot of reminiscing. As we are honoring fathers on Sunday let us not forget to honor the Heavenly Father. Without Him, there would be no fathers. There would be no "us". Wow, that is just mind boggling. I know that not everyone who visits Spiritual Sundays and who shares with us lives in America. Some of your holidays are different from ours. Even if you live in a country that does not celebrate Father's Day this week, you will still want to honor him.

Seems like every week there are serious concerns that we need to be praying about. I hope you will remember to go to the Prayer Request page and pray for those listed. If you know of some of the concerns there no longer need to be on the list for one reason or another I would appreciate it if you would let me know, and I will make the correction. If you have something or someone you want to add to it, let me know.

Welcome Friends

Now it's time to start another weekend of sharing on Spiritual Sundays. Hard to believe some of us have been doing this for almost five years. I remember very well Ginger approaching me with the idea that she thought we ought to work together to start a blog where people could link to share inspirational thoughts. I thought it was good idea so we started Spiritual Sundays in July 2008. Ginger had so many other things going on in her life a couple of years ago that she decided to take a sabbatical from co-hosting. I appreciate all the encouragement you have given me to keep it going. I know it has been a blessing to many because so many wonderful posts are shared here each week.

WELCOME BACK

Hard to believe summer is here. Well, not officially, but unofficially I guess it started with Memorial Day. Where we live there are a lot of people who come here for the winter months and leave in the summer to go somewhere cooler. This is a great place in the winter. I'm still thinking about all the recent devastation from the tornadoes. Even as I write this, there are severe weather warnings for many parts of the United States as well as wild fires in California. I'm sure there are things going on where you live if it is outside the United States that causes concern too. I'm thankful for the internet. There are certainly things about it that are not good, but there are also many good things. I think it is wonderful that we can all communicate this way and encourage each other. Thank you for participating in such a grand way.

WELCOME

For those of us living in the United States, this weekend is a very special occasion. Memorial Day is a time to honor all those who died in service to our country. It is easy to get caught up in the fun things we do at this time and forget the meaning. I hope we will pause during the day to remember why we are celebrating the day. Memorial Day is special for me for another reason. It was on Memorial Day 1948 that I was baptized. Back then it was always May 30 and that year it happened to fall on a Sunday.

Hello again all you special people. Once again thank you for praying for Nancy. She continues to improve and probably will get to go home in a few more days. There are so many people and circumstances that we need to pray about that we could spend full time praying. There are so many problems in our world today. If I didn't know that God was still in control and someday everything will all be made "right", I would be terribly discouraged. In the meantime, it is good to encourage one another as you all do who share with us on this blog.
